Method

Add 1 tablespoon of oil into a cooking pot / electric cooking kettle and turn the stove on low / kettle on medium.
Reak the noodle cake into pieces and put it into the oil.
Wait for 2 minutes and add 2 1/2 cups of water. It's okay if all the pieces don't get covered in water.
The water should come to a boil in 3-5 minutes. Keep mixing once in a while.Add cream.
Add the maggi masala and stir. By this time the maggi should have absorbed most of the water.
Now you're ready to serve! Turn off the knob, get a plate and serve hot!
Add more or less masala according to your taste!
Add oil on top of noodle cake for a finer taste.

It sounded like my huffy neighbour who believes in the no-spending-wonly earning..eat-pongal-at-home way of life! Anyway, it was the noise inside my head. 'Stop! Look at you! That hideous double-chin... that, that widening belly... that fat butt! Ugh! You are never going to get a good husband'. Frantically, I called mom and asked her for the recipe of low-calorie low-fat low-carb Vegetable broth. Dina didn't seem too happy when I told her what I was up to. After chopping veggies unevenly, boiling incorrectly, and spilling the broth all over the stove, I managed to pour it into bowls. It tasted delicious, or so I believe. Could have been better with some salt maybe? Two bowls filled me up, and I bet it was the healthiest meal I had had in the last twelve months! Look, it's got zero fat, zero cholestrol. Why? Because any shop or restaurant can claim a surcharge on any product if it is combined with a special service, in this case, the storage and refrigeration.
Keeping this in mind, I was ready to shell out a few extra bucks when I called for Maggi in my office canteen (imagine the excitement in my head... yummylicious Maggi noodles at 4 pm!!!)
I frowned when I was charged Rs.15 for a plate. Not so bad, I thought, considering that a packet is sold for Rs.10 anyway and the canteen is charging extra for its 'microwaving service'. A few bites and slurps later I completely forgot about the surcharge. Yusrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12322225579800981975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141637167163272056.post-91231358021262643332015-05-09T07:32:00.000-07:002015-05-09T07:32:00.216-07:00A Maggi recipe you must not miss!So my mom did something very innovative with Maggi recently, here's a recipe worth sharing.
My sisters and I love Maggi. I know it isn't the healthiest thing around, but a quick snack of Maggi never hurt anyone. In fact, it reminds me of life's simple pleasures and cheers up my inner child ;)
It isn't unusual to find leftover Maggi at my place, because we always make extra. One morning, my mom found a bowl of Maggi in the refrigerator. It had gone sticky, but adding hot water to loosen it up would dilute the flavours. So she decided to make tikkis out of it. I was the first person to try them and fell in love instantly.Yusrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12322225579800981975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141637167163272056.post-14031141912314350322015-04-25T07:30:00.000-07:002015-04-25T07:30:01.623-07:005 flavour boosters for MaggiHere are my top 5 flavour boosters for Maggi... pick one!

CHEESE.... need i say more? Cheese can make the dullest dish shine. Grate some cheddar on top of the noodles before you turn off the heat.

OREGANO... What do you do with those extra packets from Dominos, anyway?

CELERY... If there was just one fresh ingredient I could pick from the supermarket, this would be it. Clean the stalks and chop them finely, mix away

CARROT AND PEAS.... and if you have the choice for 2 fresh ingredients, pls try carrots and boiled peas. If you notice the Maggi packet, carrots and peas are the suggested garnish for all the right reasons

BUTTER... this is unusual, but good ol' Amul butter can add loads of flavour to Maggi. Melt in a teaspoon of butter while cooking, no more, no less.

You know me, I have always added more magic, more masala to my Maggi. At the end of the day we're talking about 2-minute noodles and if you really don't have the time or the patience to follow my Maggi recipes, simply use 1 additional ingredient and watch the flavours boom.Yusrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12322225579800981975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141637167163272056.post-27393243540505868432015-03-28T07:25:00.000-07:002015-03-28T07:25:00.090-07:00Spicy Chicken and Noodles

All you need is a packet of Maggi Noodles (Curry Favor), 1 egg, some vegetable greens (pak choy or stiff spinach works great), finely chopped onions, pieces of fried tofu (you can substitute paneer but it definitely won't taste the same), some dark soy sauce and of course 1 finely chopped spicy chilli. In a heated wok, stir fry the onions, chilli, fried tofu (extremely healthy they tell me), green leafy vegetables and the single egg. Don't forget to keep stirring (the egg needs to be well scrambled).

Once everything is well fried, just add the pre-boiled and strained Maggi and mix well (make sure that the Maggi is not overcooked, overkill in this form makes the resulting dish soggy and unappetizing). Add a little dark soya sauce and the seasoning packet that comes with the noodles. Once again, don't overcook it and remove it from heat the instant you think it is done, and serve.Yusrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12322225579800981975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141637167163272056.post-22797778903271056392015-02-14T08:40:00.000-08:002015-02-14T08:40:00.363-08:00How to make maggi doodles 4So here are 3 of my Maggi Noodle recipes. these have been tried and tasted not just by me (for that sampling would definitely be skewed), but also by my husband and a few friends. What this means is that you can safely take your chances and try them yourself, for their taste-buds are not as accustomed to junk, frozen and ready to cook foods as mine are. Shame on me! You can home-cook all of these as none have any fancy ingredients and if you would like to add meat or seafood, sure, go ahead and let me know if it works out with the recipe.Yusrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12322225579800981975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141637167163272056.post-49466272792261023262015-01-31T08:39:00.000-08:002015-01-31T08:39:00.139-08:00How to make maggi doodles 3He begged and begged me to try it, to no avail. But yes, after lots of hullaboo and high drama, fake tears, extreme facial expressions and procrastination on my part, hunger got the better of me (after all, we had actually trekked quite a hill there) and I put a heaping spoonful in my mouth. Oh, but that had actually tasted good.

Then it was my turn to beg for the recipe and after much cajoling he admitted that it was just one single secret ingredient that worked wonders. Tomato Ketchup! He said! Yes, you read it right, he had just put in a few spoonfuls of tomato ketchup into the pot while the Maggi was cooking and that was just about it! What the incident did was that it opened me up to the wonders of experimenting with my 'as dear as life' Maggi Noodles.Yusrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12322225579800981975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141637167163272056.post-54172413753820538582015-01-17T08:37:00.000-08:002015-01-17T08:37:00.360-08:00How to make maggi doodles 2I was out on a trek with some of my closest friends and the dinnertime meal was supposed to be Maggi noodles. I absolutely hated the fact that when we picked up our chits (that was how we designated individual chores), I was the nominated dishwasher and my dear friend M, the cook! It was bad enough that I was to do the dishes but what made it completely worse was the fact that M was very clearly in the mood the experiment, something equivalent to the gravest sacrilege in my mind, especially when it comes to making Maggi.Yusrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12322225579800981975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141637167163272056.post-22844972338074002452015-01-03T08:36:00.000-08:002015-01-03T08:36:00.114-08:00How to make maggi noodlesEveryone loves Maggi Noodles but most people hate experimenting with something so good and stick to the traditional way of making these 2 minute noodles. Not so very long ago, I was completely orthodox myself when it came to making these noodles and in fact I was such a stickler for rules when it came to making them that I would time my cooking time to exact 2 minutes, not a second more nor less. Yet all that changed one fine day. - See more at: http://sayali-bedekar-patil.blogspot.com/2013/07/3-innovative-new-ways-to-make-maggi.html#sthash.TWIdvmnY.dpufYusrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12322225579800981975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141637167163272056.post-79578547892169161152014-12-20T08:33:00.000-08:002014-12-20T08:33:00.267-08:00MANGO MAGGI

Do you remember the popular advertisement of Maggi noodles in the 80s where two kids after their playtime, enter the house screaming – ‘Mummy bade ghazab ki bhookh lagi, Maggi chhaiye mujhe abhi?’ The commercial concludes with a ringing tagline–hmm… Maggi noodles!

This is probably one of the fondest memories of country’s most loved convenient food –Maggi.

Ask any kid if they like Maggi and there is only one reply – wow. In other words – we simply love Maggi! We love it cooked with vegetables, with eggs, in a soup form or even fried. In short, if variety is the spice of life, then there has been lot of innovation and experiment with Maggi and the result has always been yum.

In India, Maggi is loved by all and many people cook it in their own style. I like to cook my Maggi with several flavors of vegetables, such as corns, green peas, carrot, etc. Each Pack of Veg Maggi Atta Noodles comes with its taste maker, that ultimately brings lot of flavors in it.

My idea behind this recipe is to compliment flavors of Maggi taste maker with our vegetables and not to overpower it.
